Story:
After experiencing my first deployment (2020-2021) I wanted to make something to help with my anxiety and depression for the next one. I wanted to feel my husband’s arms even when he was on the other side of the world. So, I created the Wrapped in Your Arms Shawl. Full Story Here. While this a free pattern, you can buy me a coffee at www.ko-fi.com/hookemcreation.
Supplies:
Hook: 4.5mm
Yarn: Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 (#1 - Fingering Weight) Color Bag #14 [I used two bags]
Size: ~ 75” x 30”
Gauge: 21 rows = ~5”
Note:
- You can use any yarn and hook size you want. I recommend going up one hook size than suggested for the yarn to give the shawl some flow.
- Good rule of thumb, the length of the shawl should be as long as the person wearing the shawl or longer. The width should be from the person’s neck/collarbone to their elbow. Larger is always better for this shawl.
- I purchased two “Rainbow Cotton 8/4 Color Bag #14” bags from Hobbii.
- The 15 rows of solid color plus the color transition is ~5”.
